British Open joins US Open in leaving prize fund at same level
The prize money for the British Open will be $17 million, the same as it was last year. It's the first time the R&A chose not to increase the purse since 2012.
PORTRUSH (ANP/RTR) – For the first time in thirteen years, the British Open will not increase its prize money, the organizers announced. The prize pool for the prestigious major tournament, which remains unchanged from last year, is $17 million (€14.5 million). The winner will receive $3.1 million (€2.7 million).
