The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) issued a statement on September 18 rejecting the legitimacy of Russia’s State Duma elections currently taking place in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

At the heart of the criticism is the holding of votes in the Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by Russia: voting is also taking place in Crimea and in the Ukrainian provinces of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.
