NYON, Switzerland (AP) — After a season of turmoil, American-owned French soccer club Marseille was threatened with a one-year ban from European competitions and fined 10 million euros ($11.5 million).
Due to violations, the French traditional club Olympique Marseille receives a juicy fine. A possible exclusion from European competitions is also available.
The Phocéan club has an additional season to contain its financial losses, under penalty of being excluded from the next European competitions.
