- CEO Nicolai Tangen of Norges Bank Investment Management attributed the success to "good returns in the equity market, particularly from Asian technology stocks," with top holdings including Nvidia, Samsung, SK Hynix, TSMC, ASML, and Intel.
- The fund, which owns 1.5% of all listed companies globally, disclosed a new 0.05% stake in SpaceX worth $1.22 billion as of 30 June in an updated holdings list.
- Tangen told CNBC on Wednesday that markets proved surprisingly resilient despite geopolitical tensions and trade barriers, yet he cautioned investors against expecting similar returns going forward.
- As the source of around 25% of Norway's fiscal budget, the fund faces heightened risk if markets downturn; Tangen warned a "meaningful market downturn" could prove bleak for the nation's finances.
