'Salmonella' warning in chicken doner poisoning: May result in death
Uğur Toprak, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Food Engineers, said the following about poisonings that occur after eating chicken doner: "Food poisoning occurs within 6-12 hours with symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and headache. In the Körfez district of Kocaeli, 648 people were poisoned by chicken döner. The two suspects, the business owners, were arrested by the on-call court. Evaluating the incident, Gastroenterology Specialist Prof. Dr. Vedat Göral said, "Pieces of chicken that have become rotten and ready to be thrown away are used in making chicken döner. It is practically like attempted murder."
