The Number of Mexicans without Access to Electricity Was Reduced by 40%

The number of people without access to electricity in Mexico fell from 500,000 to 300,000 between 2016 and 2024, which means a fall of 40 percent. According to the National Household Income and Expenditure Survey (ENIGH), between 2022 and 2024 the rate of Mexicans without electricity service decreased 26 percent. But between 2020 and 2022, an increase of 46.9 percentage points in the number of people without access to this service was observed.
