Ford Recalls over 103k Pickups over Rear Axle Issues
Ford will replace defective rear axle hub bolts in 103,174 F-150 trucks free of charge to prevent rollaways and collisions, NHTSA said only 1% may have the defect.
- On Tuesday, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a recall of 103,174 Ford F-150 pickup trucks.
- Amid safety concerns, regulators revealed that rear axle hub bolts may fatigue and break, damaging axle hub splines and increasing collision risk.
- Recall covers Ford F-150 pickup trucks produced between Jan. 2, 2023, and May 21, 2025, with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package and 9.75-inch heavy-duty axle.
- NHTSA estimates that over 1% of recalled vehicles are affected, and Ford and Lincoln dealers will inspect and replace the left and right rear axle shaft assemblies free of charge.
- Ford will send notification letters between August 18, 2025, and May 22, 2026, under recall number 25S82.
