Chairman of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DICAN), Idehai Frederick, on Saturday said that India has the vision, strength and potential to harmonise the global economy through BRICS, while Indonesian journalist Mega Mei Wahidawati called India's BRICS leadership an “amazing” and “exciting” opportunity as Indonesia participates in the grouping as a member for the first time.
The holding of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India, on 12–13 September 2026 marks a crucial phase in the evolution of the global political-economic architecture.

Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), said that his country sees Indonesia as having an important role in the BRICS intergovernmental organization, particularly by bringing development experience in the fields of financial technology (fintech), innovation, startups, and sustainability to share with fellow member countries.
