The Swedish Armed Forces have been allocated hundreds of billions of kronor in new appropriations in recent years. The money is being spent, but the authority is unable to show how it is prioritizing, the Swedish National Audit Office states in a new report. “There is a lack of evidence to determine whether the Swedish Armed Forces’ priorities are the most cost-effective,” says Marcus Pettersson, project manager for the review.
The National Audit Office is criticizing the Swedish Armed Forces in two new audits. "Development has been slower than it otherwise could have been," says Sascha Sohlman, report author for one of the audits.
