The name of Worcester Park’s “missing” war casualty has finally been added to the town’s war memorial.
Private William Whiting’s details had been absent for more than a century after he died on the front line in World War I. He was killed in November 1918 just days before the signing of the Armistice agreement. The re-dedication and memorial service in Worcester Park was organised by the Royal British Legion.
