On Friday, 63 years after the original March on Washington, the King family and Al Sharpton join nearly 100 community partners for a peaceful protest for voting rights and justice for Black and Brown people.

As people prepare to gather in Washington for the March on Washington: Defend the Vote, I keep coming back to the things we are asking people to defend and what we are prepared to do to defend them. The freedom to vote deserves our vigilance.
