Stars Praise Incredible Action, Touching Storyline in 'The Mandalorian and Grogu'
Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver and Jon Favreau joined the red carpet as Disney/Lucasfilm’s film heads to theaters May 22.
On Thursday, stars Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jon Favreau walked the red carpet at TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles for the world premiere of the new Star Wars film.
Set after the 2019-23 Disney+ series, the film follows Din Djarin and his apprentice Grogu as the New Republic enlists them to rescue Rotta the Hutt in exchange for vital intelligence.
Director Jon Favreau emphasized the venue's historical significance, noting that the original Star Wars sensation began at the Chinese Theatre 49 years ago to the month.
Weaver called the story "incredible action" and "very touching," while longtime fan Matthew Willig portrays a new creature in the film.
The Disney/Lucasfilm production opens in theaters May 22, expanding the story that began as a streaming series onto the big screen.
