The Legislative Yuan today passed the third reading of amendments to certain articles of the Cable Television Act, appropriately loosening the restrictions on purely financial indirect investments not effectively controlled by the government, its foundations, or their trustees. The previous restriction on holding any shares in the system operator has been relaxed to a maximum of 1%.
