The government and the ruling Liberal Democratic Party are making final arrangements for the parliamentary vote to choose Japan's next prime minister to be held on Oct. 21, sources familiar with the matter said Tuesday.
[Yomiuri Shimbun] Regarding the Prime Minister nomination election at the extraordinary Diet session, Constitutional Democratic Party Secretary-General Yasumi, Japan Restoration Party Secretary-General Nakaji, and Democratic Party for the People Secretary-General Shiba met in the Diet on the 14th and agreed to hold a meeting of the three party leaders on the 15th to determine whether cooperation is possible.
