The Bobrek mine in Bytom (Silesian Voivodeship) will be closed on January 1, 2026. The coal deposits used by the mine can no longer be safely mined, hence the decision to close the plant. It employs 1,800 people. Grzegorz Wacławek, president of Węglokoks Kraj, the company that owns Bobrek, told "Dziennik Zachodni" what will happen to them.
