The government intends to increase funding for all ministries except one with this year's budget amendment, which is expected to be approved by the end of the month. The biggest increase will be in defense funding, by more than 230 million euros, according to the starting points for preparing the budget documents published by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
The proposal targets a fiscal deficit equivalent to 2.97 % of gross domestic product, below the 3% limit set for 2027 in the Tax Social Responsibility Act.
It is subject to the approval of a tax reform for COP$30 billion and poses a reduction in the size of the budget against GDP.
