Amazon's New Kindle Colorsoft E-Reader Drops Its Price and Its Storage
CANADA AND EMEA REGION, JUL 24 – Amazon adds two affordable Kindle Colorsoft models, including the first color e-reader for kids with Amazon Kids+ subscription and parental controls, expanding its lineup.
- With today’s release, Amazon announced two new Kindle Colorsoft models, with the base model priced at $250 and the Kids version at $270, Amazon said.
- Amid consumer balking at the $280 price, Amazon said it spurred more budget and kid-focused models.
- Both new models pack 16GB storage, omitting auto-adjusting lighting and wireless charging, and include a manually adjustable warm light.
- Readers in Canada can purchase Kindle Colorsoft models today, including the base, Signature Edition, or Kids versions, as Amazon announced their availability.
- Starting this summer, Amazon said it will expand Kids+ offerings, noting existing library size.
