On the 8th, the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) found Noritz (Chuo-ku, Kobe), a major manufacturer of water heaters, to have violated the Subcontracting Act (now the Act on the Proper Operation of Small and Medium-Sized Contractors) by having a subcontractor store molds free of charge, and issued a recommendation demanding that the company take measures to prevent recurrence and pay storage costs.
