Israeli operations in southern Lebanon are entering a different phase, as the Israeli army tends to downsize and reorganize its forces along the so-called yellow line, in parallel with the establishment of a new network of military positions, while changes in the composition of units indicate a shift from heavy reliance on offensive and elite forces to stabilization of deployment lines and capture of positions.
Today, Thursday, Israeli Army Radio reported that in recent days the army has significantly reduced the size of fighting forces in the security zone in southern Lebanon, where the number of brigades in Sector 8 has dropped from 6, and several reserve forces have been demobilized.
