The internet’s favorite grocery store manager? Meet Barry Dabbs
His videos have drawn 4.5 million views and brought out-of-state shoppers to the store, while boosting business and inspiring fan merchandise.
Barry Dabbs, a Food Giant grocery store manager in Hueytown, Alabama, has become a TikTok sensation by filming four or five videos daily in cowboy boots while walking store aisles, drawing millions of viewers despite his 42-year tenure.
One video about meat reached 4.5 million views on TikTok, with Dabbs believing audiences connect because his straightforward personality contrasts sharply with filtered, highly produced online content.
Visitors from Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas now travel to meet Dabbs, with at least three arriving weekly; fans have created T-shirts and pillowcases bearing his image.
The store has benefited from increased traffic while Dabbs' content evolved to emphasize that 'there is still good in this world, and that there are people thats willing to help other people.'
Dabbs has officiated weddings for followers and inspired fan-created merchandise, demonstrating how unpolished authenticity can build lasting cultural influence beyond typical social media metrics.
