The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) asked the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, to put an end to the emergency regime in force for more than three years, on which the entity expressed its “concern about the prolonged extension and improper application”, after the Central American Parliament approved its 41st extension at the end of last July.
