The Portuguese government has announced extraordinary financial support of €3.5 million, channeled through the MAR2030 program, intended for fishing vessel owners affected by recent severe weather that has prevented activity at sea, according to the Lusa news agency. To access this support, the period of temporary fishing stoppage must be equal to or greater than the minimum wage for fishing.
The executive, by means of the MAR2030 programme, shall make available this amount to the shipowners of fishing vessels, provided that in order to support the period of fishing which shall be equal to or greater than 30 days, it shall be counted, followed or interpolated in each civil year, from 15 November 2025 to 20 February 2026.
