In 1972, the Zaanse Wastora (washing machines, vacuum cleaners and radios) took over the ailing AZ’67. The owners of the giant in household electronics, the former KFC professionals Cees and Klaas Molenaar, claimed the national title within ten years. On 5 May 1978, the provincial club with top club ambitions won the first main prize, the KNVB Cup, after a 1-0 victory over Ajax. Back in time with Henk van Rijnsoever, Hugo Hovenkamp and Kees Kist.
