Europol confirms that there is an explosion of express thefts of historical and heritage jewels across Europe. The theft of the Treasure of Villena was preceded by the theft of the Museum of Badajoz and the Municipal Museum of Albacete. Just nine hours later, two robbers stole a necklace valued at four million euros from the Museum of Fine Arts in Vienna.
