Sahibganj is the only district in Jharkhand where the Ganges flows. The rising water level of the Ganges in the district has made the situation in the Diara region increasingly critical. On Saturday, the water level was 28.71 meters, 1 meter 46 centimeters above the danger mark of 27.25 meters. By 6 a.m. Sunday, it had decreased to around 28.
