BELFORT, France, July 17 (Reuters) - The Tour de France will offer riders a new challenge on Saturday with the debut of the Col du Haag, a brutal climb that organisers believe could become an iconic battleground in future editions of the race.
It is a real mountain stage, compact (155 km for 3.800 m of elevation), which awaits the riders with four climbs to climb, including three of the first category. "We first climb the Grand Ballon (21.5 km at 4.8%) to pass a first time on the finish line at the end of 45 kilometers, before redoing a loop of 110 km.
