US President Donald Trump announced today at the inaugural meeting of the Peace Committee, which he is establishing, that nine members of that body promised to provide seven billion dollars for a reconstruction package for Gaza and five countries agreed to send troops to participate in the international stabilization forces for the war-torn Palestinian territory.
The group does not have the support of some of the major historical allies of the United States, such as European powers
Some 60 states have received invitations to join the Peace Commission led by Donald Trump, and so far 27 have accepted. According to the latest data, 32 countries will participate in the first meeting to be held in Washington, but some of them will be observers - including the European Commission.
