Brazil has paid more than R$ 4.4 billion of the public funds for payment of benefits to persons with disability indexes, according to the TCU audit report (Union Court of Auditors). The amount includes social benefits - such as the Bolsa Family -, forecasters, workers and salaries of public servants, assets, inactive and pensioners. According to TCU, payments were identified to 275,872 persons with vacancy rates between 2016 and 2025.
