The progressive Democrats 66 party was on track to win the Dutch parliamentary election after voters dealt a blow to Geert Wilders’ far-right Freedom Party and threw support behind mainstream political groups.

Could it finally happen? As the leader of the D66 party, Rob Jetten is openly and proudly acknowledging his homosexuality. Next year, he'll marry his international hockey player, and he's been making it a point to do so. In the exit polls, it currently appears that D66 will become the largest party, and will therefore also provide the prime minister.
The progressive liberal party D66 would win the general elections held this Wednesday in the Netherlands, driven by the good image of its leader.
