Starting July 1, the rules for importing small parcels into the European Union will change. Parcels worth up to €150 will no longer be exempt from customs duties. This change is intended to curb fraud, strengthen the position of EU sellers, and increase customs revenue.
Anyone buying a package from outside the EU will pay 3 euros in import duties on it starting July 1. The exception currently applying to packages worth less than 150 euros will be abolished at that time. In November, a European levy of 2 euros will be added on top of that.
