On a remote slope of the La Esperanza cemetery, an hour by road from La Guaira, the area most devastated by the earthquakes of June 24, a handful of backhoes and trucks have been opening trenches in the bare land for more than ten days. Thousands of bodies rescued from the rubble, the poorest, most of them still nameless, will rest there.
