The revised World Health Organization regulations, which countries have been negotiating for three years, will enter into force in September. Slovenia has not announced any reservations and has begun the ratification process, as the requirements of the regulations are already regulated in our legislation.
The recently reached global treaty to fight pandemics and the reforms of the international health regulations adopted in 2024 were approved by consensus of the members of the World Health Organization (WHO) and do not take away sovereignty from the states, defended the director general of the agency, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in response to recent criticisms from the US and Italy.
