Gatineau tramway cost grows again to estimated $8B
A Quebec transportation agency says it would cost about four times as much as originally planned to build a 24-kilometre light rail line, opening the door for officials to talk about changes including scaling the project back.
In view of the high bill, Mobility Infra Québec is thinking about implementing the project in sections, not at once.
The route is now valued at $8 billion, almost double the previous estimate of $3.5 billion to $4.5 billion.
