The District Court for Warsaw-Śródmieście has suspended the execution of the sentence against former opposition activist Piotr Niemczyk, his attorney, Jacek Dubois, announced. Meanwhile, Ombudsman Sylwia Gregorczyk-Abram has filed a cassation appeal with the Supreme Court regarding Niemczyk. "I have a strong grievance against the police," the former deputy head of the Intelligence Directorate of the State Protection Office told TOK FM.

Piotr Niemczyk, a well-known opposition figure from the communist era, was arrested on Tuesday for his participation in the Last Generation protest in Warsaw.
