ALGIERS: Algeria on Thursday pushed back against President Emmanuel Macron’s call for Paris to get tougher with its former colony, saying France was seeking to “exonerate” itself from any blame as their standoff drags on.
In a letter addressed to his Prime Minister on Wednesday, Emmanuel Macron advocated "more firmness" towards Algeria, in the face of the diplomatic crisis between the two countries. France "does all the harm to the Algerian side", replied the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
