An inter-university study of the University of La Laguna (ULL) and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Ulpgc), developed within the framework of the Rubicon Project, has documented a case of Paget's bone disease in the skeleton of an adult man buried at the beginning of the 15th century in San Marcial de Rubicon, in Lanzarote, the first permanent European settlement of the Canary Islands.
