The bill for the investments that the Jetten cabinet wants will hit people with lower incomes harder than people with high incomes, according to calculations by the planning agencies.
Prime Minister-elect Rob Jetten (D66) is eager to hear "input" from parties in the House of Representatives now that the planning agencies have finalized the cabinet's plans. "Then we can take a good look at it towards the summer, when we draw up next year's final budget."
The new cabinet will significantly raise taxes. Calculations by the CPB (Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis) show that tax rates will also be increased, in addition to the previously known "freedom contribution."
