A long-vacant apartment building on Maple Street is getting a second chance as part of a broader initiative to revitalize downtown Holyoke and provide more housing options. Urbanist Development has begun renovations on a 16-unit apartment building at 456 Maple Street, where years of neglect had left most of the apartments vacant. Company officials say the project will provide much-needed housing to a city facing a tight rental market.
