Pilgrims gathered at Jasna Góra heard from Bishop Wiesław Mering that Poland is "ruled by political gangsters" and "people who call themselves Germans." The priest also mentioned the situation on Poland's borders. Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski responded to his words.

During Sunday's homily at Jasna Góra, Bishop Wiesław Mering of Włocławek, among other things, threatened migrants, indicated that "a German will not be a brother to a Pole," and commented on the government's statements while manipulating the facts. "He is a politician of the Confederation, of the Law and Justice party, nothing more," commentator Tomasz Terlikowski responded to the bishop's words on TVN24.
