The Department of Justice and Human Rights of the Basque Government will directly inform the victims of the prison permits granted to prisoners, a measure taken in the light of the finding that the previous system, based on communication to the victims' associations, was "inadequate" in view of the lack of transmission of warnings to the victims, in some cases, and "filtration of sensitive and protected aspects" of some files.
