Basel started the Fasnacht on early Monday morning. Traditionally, the "Morgestraich" was the kick-off, in which several thousand participants travelled through the city centre.
On Monday, February 23, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., the morningstraich begins in Basel – and thus the famous Basler Fasnacht.
