- On Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Comics announced Maximum X-Men, a new ongoing series launching in December 2026 that spins out of Avengers: Armageddon.
- Following Avengers: Armageddon, Earth's Mightiest Heroes are no longer active, leaving a global void the X-Men are positioned to fill with storytelling inspired by Jim Lee's classic X-Men run.
- Storm leads the Maximum X-Men roster including Wolverine, Colossus, Bishop, Iceman, Firestar, Psylocke, and Justice, with New Warriors founder Vance Astrovik joining for the first time on an X-Men team.
- Marvel also announced Iron Man will double-ship in December with "Incarcerated Iron Man" and "War Machines," while attendees received an exclusive Avengers: Armageddon #2 with a secret cover by Chip Zdarsky.
