Russian attacks kill two in east Ukraine, 33 hurt in Kharkiv
KHARKIV, UKRAINE, JUL 24 – Russian glide bomb strikes killed three displaced family members and injured at least 41 civilians, including six children, amid intensified attacks on eastern Ukraine, officials said.
- On July 24, 2025, central Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district was struck by two KAB bombs, injuring 22 people, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
- In recent months, Moscow has intensified attacks on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city just over 20 kilometers from the Russian border, and on nearby settlements.
- At around 11:30 a.m., two Russian glide bombs struck a high-rise residential building and a civilian enterprise, trapping people under rubble and igniting a fire.
- Among the injured, a 10-year-old girl experienced a severe stress reaction and a 17-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl are in moderate condition while one woman is in serious condition, Head of the Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov said.
- Emergency crews, including medical personnel, rescuers and police, are working at the scene, and regional prosecutors said the July 24 attack was launched nearly 100 km away, highlighting how glide bombs can devastate front-line areas.
