The Government has formalized the classification of the Alpine Lagoped and the Great Tetras as protected species, prohibiting their hunting and sanctifying their habitats in the face of a decline of concern.
The alpine lagoon and the large tetras are now non-chassable in France, and their nests and protected habitats.
Both birds join a list to which no new species had been added since 2009.
