Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev again called for a “freeze” of hostilities in Ukraine in order to start peace talks. He also called Russian dictator Vladimir Putin “the most acceptable political figure” for Europe and the whole world.
He noted that Kazakhstan has the longest border with Russia in the world and that 2.7 million ethnic Russians live in the republic. He also described Putin as a politician who understands Russia's strategic goals, possesses the necessary qualities, and is the most acceptable to the whole world.
