Ram Revives $100,000 TRX V-8 Truck Amid Looser Regulations

On Jan. 1, 2026, Ram announced the 2027 Ram Power Wagon Diesel as the first diesel Power Wagon, with a manufacturer starting price of $88,470.
Ram says customers asked for Cummins for years, and 2026 heavy-duty packaging fixes, including removing the winch, enabled adding the diesel as part of the 'freedom of choice' initiative.
The Power Wagon hardware includes the 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six producing 430 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet of torque, with Bilstein shocks, locking differentials, and skid plates.
Ram claims the diesel can tow nearly 20,000 pounds and carry almost 3,000 pounds of payload, positioning the Power Wagon Diesel against Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 and Ford Super Duty Tremor.
The Power Wagon Diesel drops alongside the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX as part of Ram's summer rollout, with Tim Kuniskis leading multiple announcements under Stellantis, with CEO Antonio Filosa of Stellantis.
