The 2027 Elantra displayed sharp, jagged looks at its launch in South Korea this week.
On Friday, Hyundai Motor unveiled the eighth-generation Avante compact sedan at the Busan International Mobility Show, calling the model a "new chapter in the evolution of mobility."
The redesigned sedan, known as the Elantra in the United States, adopts Hyundai's "Art of Steel" design philosophy with a boxy, futuristic exterior and increased dimensions of 4765mm long and 1855mm wide.
Hyundai will offer the model with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine or a 1.6-liter hybrid system, while integrating the new Pleos Connect infotainment platform and Gleo AI voice assistant.
The Avante will go on sale in South Korea later this year, with the Elantra expected to reach the United States in 2027 as the automaker opens order books in the third quarter.
Reflecting a strategic shift toward software-defined vehicles, the launch demonstrates Hyundai Motor's commitment to intelligent mobility technologies and how digital services enhance daily driving experiences.
Hyundai Motor unveiled the fully redesigned 8th-generation Avante for the first time at the 2026 Busan Mobility Show held at BEXCO in Busan on the 26th. Featuring mid-size dimensions and equipped with generative AI, this is a complete, full-change model released six years after the launch of the 7th generation in 2020.
