New construction (logistics real estate), storage technology: Due to increased demand at Thalia in the non-book segment, the Rhenus Group built an AutoStore system with about 240,000 containers and 530 robots in Hörselgau, Thuringia.
The new Thalia-Omnichannel-Hub in Hörselgau is not only intended to accelerate the delivery of bookstores, but also to secure the growing online business – especially in peak times such as the Christmas business. The Rhenus Group wants to set standards in trade logistics with technology.
Because more and more orders are being made online, the bookseller Thalia in Hörselgau opened a new central warehouse on Thursday. Robots are supposed to facilitate work there and optimize processes.
