TfL wants to create a publicly owned bus company for London

Transport for London has published a draft Business Plan to 2029/30 outlining major upgrades to the capital’s transport network.

A flagship proposal is the West London Orbital, an Overground link between Hounslow and Hendon via Old Oak Common. The plan also includes new trains and bus network improvements. TfL says the programme will deliver greener, more reliable transport, with the plan considered by its board on 4 February 2026.
