Texas deputy shares story after he was shot in his sleep during random drive-by
Deputy Augustine Arellano suffered pierced organs and a fractured spine, and suspect Rodrigo Arraiga Jr. is charged with deadly conduct on a $75,000 bond.
On April 25, Harris County Deputy Augustine Arellano was shot in his home during a random drive-by, suffering a fractured spine and pierced internal organs.
Arellano reported hearing a vehicle pass before gunfire struck his bedroom, with two of his three children in the room and one standing near a window.
Held on a $75,000 bond, suspect Rodrigo Arraiga Jr. faces charges of deadly conduct in connection to the shooting investigation.
The shooting occurred as the family remained displaced following a fire nearly two years ago, while DLT Construction requested an additional $60,000 to complete the home rebuild.
"It's been a rough road, but I'm doing good," said Arellano, who is recovering; supporters wishing to assist the family can visit the provided link.
